The lightblock DKL

What is this?

Something that dies rapidly. Comes to complete a window roof installation, particulary in a bedroom. It allows to obtain a quite good dark room.

The problem

Like shutters, morning and evening, one movement. Almost 700 per year. It wears away and it does not resist. Really not at all.

Two smalls cords traverse the horizontal bar(8007) and maintain the lightblock in position.
But rubbing cords hollows the plastic at each move, resulting in four deep narrow pass.
Then, the cords themselves finish their life. And when broken, the lightblock becomes useless, unusable.

Velux customer service

Response fromVelux is quite simple: buy a new cords set, ~20 dollars no vat, no postage.

Crazzy

Obviously, they don't relize that replacing cords don't solve in any way the problem. Unbelievable. Hundreds of DKL go to trash because of hidden defect and velux have no solution, no repair kit.

Repair

Quite simple, you have to cap with a piece of metal. Cords will move smoothly inside the bar.

Admire the big hole partialy covered by the piece of glued brass. Cords have not been changed yet.
